VILA DOROTHEA
The house can be found in the historical center of Banská Štiavnica, on the oldest street in the city - Strieborná Street. The villa is set at the foot of a steep slope, the adjacent walkway from the wooden stairs leads you to the local brewery, synagogue, or New Castle.
The oldest late-gothic tower wing of the house has a northeast facade reconstructed to the end of the 15th century. In the basement they have uniquely preserved the original mining mines with several galleries. The original building interiors are reconstructed and presented on the higher floors. The appearance of the Renaissance courtyard wing was influenced by the younger rebuilding.
Comprehensive rebuilding was begun in 2011, completed in 2017. The present form of the building has the greatest merit of Ing. Arch. Peter Niznansky, for which the owner of the house also thanks this way.
TURIZMUS
The Old Castle was originally the first Stiavnica church. The impressive ship had more than 1,000 people. It had a strategic position and was first fortified and later rebuilt into a fort.
Trotuar - one of the most beautiful streets in the city, a vibrant artery lined with burgher houses and known for its elevated 140-meter-long footpath. Anyone who has visited this ancient mining town at least once knows the street of Andrej Kmeť in Banská Štiavnica.
Calvary is a complex of sacral objects in the Baroque style consisting of three churches, nineteen chapels and a sculpture of the Virgin Mary.
Štiavnické tajchy - in the 18th century, this was probably the most perfect water management system in Europe. The Tajchy together held a total of 7 million cubic meters of water, used to drive mining equipment. Nowadays, tajchy are popular with refreshing summer days.
